Xiaomi unveils the 15T Pro, but the 17 Pro is likely to get all the spotlight

Xiaomi has just launched a load of new tech, including its latest T phones – but the timing is a little odd.

Headlining the pack is the Xiaomi 15T Pro, a camera-first flagship co-engineered with Leica. You’re looking at a 50MP main with a faster f/1.62 lens, a new Light Fusion 900 sensor, and a 5x Leica Pro telephoto that stretches to 10x optical-level and 20x “Ultra Zoom.”

Creators get 4K/120fps on the main camera plus 10-bit Log with LUT import, while Xiaomi’s AISP 2.0 handles the heavy lifting for colour and depth.

The timing of this launch is slightly odd though, as the brand is expected to launch its 17 series, headlined by the Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max this week, phones that’ll come with 100W charging.

Under the hood, the 15T Pro runs MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400+ (3nm), with the standard 15T on Dimensity 8400-Ultra. Both carry 5500mAh batteries; charging peaks at 90W wired/50W wireless on the Pro and 67W wired on the 15T.

There’s also a neat curveball: Astral Communication with “Offline Communication” for device-to-device voice in open spaces; one to test on a hike before you trust it on a mountain.

Bigger, brighter screens (and slimmer bezels)

Both phones jump to a 6.83-inch AMOLED with up to 3200 nits peak brightness; the Pro hits 144Hz, the 15T does 120Hz.

The Pro trims bezels using LIPO tech for that edge-to-edge look, and both stack in serious eye-care credentials. Software-wise, the duo debuts HyperOS 3 with a fresher UI and tighter cross-device tricks — worth a peek if you’re curious about Xiaomi’s Android spin after MIUI; our HyperOS explainer breaks down the approach.

Tablets crash the party, too

Phones led the show, but Xiaomi also wheeled out the Redmi Pad 2 Pro family and a dinky Xiaomi Pad Mini for light productivity and couch surfing.

Expect big displays, Dolby Vision/Atmos, and sizable batteries, very on-brand for Xiaomi’s tablet value play. If you’re upgrading from last year’s T-series, it’s interesting to see how far the camera and charging have marched on since our Xiaomi 13T Pro review.

Pricing & availability

Xiaomi 15T Pro starts at €799, while the Xiaomi 15T starts at €649 (configs and regional rollouts to follow).

The story here is simple: bigger screens, bolder Leica optics, faster silicon and a couple of tablets thrown in for good measure.
