Xiaomi phone owners are in for a treat with a huge update set to land very soon

Xiaomi has started pushing HyperOS 3 to global users, with the update rolling out in phases rather than all at once.

The first wave targets the Xiaomi 15T family, and wider availability will follow as Xiaomi checks for hiccups.

The news comes from Xiaomi’s HyperOS account, which says the rollout starts with the 15T series and will widen from there.

It’d make sense for those who joined the global beta program on the 15T and 15T Pro to see the stable build first, although this hasn’t been confirmed, so it might not be the case. In China, the initial stable release hit the Xiaomi 15 line and Redmi K80 models earlier in the cycle, so the global schedule is essentially catching up.

What’s new?

HyperOS 3 sits on Android 16 and focuses on feel as much as features. Expect a lightly refreshed interface, updated system apps, as well as a handful of new AI tricks that aim to surface smarter suggestions without adding clutter.

Xiaomi has also continued its cross-device play, so features that connect phones, tablets and wearables should feel a bit tighter after the update.

If you are waiting for your device, the usual update advice applies. Check for the download in Settings, make sure you have plenty of charge, and switch to Wi-Fi before you hit install. Rollouts are staggered by region and model, so it is normal for some owners to see the notification days or even weeks ahead of others. Patience beats sideloading a build that is not meant for your handset just yet.

The 15T series gets first dibs, which tracks with how Xiaomi likes to seed new software on its newest hardware and then work down the range. Once this broadens, it will be interesting to see how much of the AI feature set lands on mid-range models versus staying on the flagships.

In short, HyperOS 3 is finally leaving beta for global users, starting with the 15T series. Just keep an eye on your update screen and you should see it appear once your region and model are cleared.
