Apple’s next Pro iPhones might be getting a serious splash of style. According to a new leak, the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max could arrive in a set of fresh, mostly unexpected hues – and they’re not your usual Apple fare.
The leak, shared by reliable tipster Instant Digital (via MacRumors), claims that three new colours are currently being tested for next year’s lineup: coffee, purple, and burgundy.
While the report claims those names come via Google Translate – so don’t expect them to be final – the tones themselves sound like a sophisticated refresh from the more muted palette of this year’s models.
Apple has flirted with purple before, most recently on the iPhone 14, but the rumoured coffee brown and dark burgundy options would mark brand-new additions for the Pro series. They’d stand apart from the Silver, Cosmic Orange, and Deep Blue finishes currently available on the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, and, according to the tipster, it looks like Apple will once again skip a traditional black option.
Of course, we’re still basically an entire year out from any official reveal as the iPhone 17 series has only been out a few months.. The iPhone 18 lineup has been reported to differ from Apple’s usual cycle, with the Pro models likely arriving in September 2026, and the standard iPhone 18 coming later. The reason for this could be the arrival of the iPhone Fold.
For now, there aren’t many hardware rumours circulating beyond talk of RAM parity across all four flagship models, but this early colour leak is already getting fans excited. After all, Apple’s Pro phones have often leaned toward understated luxury rather than bold design choices. A deep coffee brown or wine-like burgundy would bring a touch of warmth and personality that’s been missing from recent generations.
If this rumour holds, the iPhone 18 Pro could end up being one of the best-looking iPhones yet, and we’re already rooting for that coffee colour to make the cut.
