Tiny Glade – The best 10 builds we have seen so far in this amazing cozy builder

When Tiny Glade came out recently it made anybody who saw it stop and take notice. This game, developed by a small team using their own proprietary graphics engine is stunning. There is no other word. And while “all” you have to do is build things, pretty things, it has engrossed all who have picked it up on Steam.

Tiny Glade is the coziest of cozy games. All you need to do is build whimsical castles and towns. We covered some of the basics previously on Readwrite Gaming and would suggest you have a look at that if you thinking of getting going, but it turns out the TG community has got very good at building very quickly. So much so that we want to showcase to you some of the stunning builds we have found on our travels so far. Enjoy.

Best Builds in Tiny Glades

These 10 cool builds are in no particular order as we love them all and hopefully there are some here you think are great too.

Every Princess needs a castle

Tiny Glade castle

The game lends itself to building castles and this kind of structure is likely where most people’s first major build may lead them. Not everybody though will be able to pul it off with the panache that BlackSoulArt has managed with this imposing gothic effort that any princess would be happy with. Well, we say any princess but there are probably a few out there that would fancy something a little more modern.

Overlook Hotel from The Shining

Overlook Hotel in Tiny Glade

Take the coziest game there has ever been and spoil it by creating the creepy af hotel from Stephen King’s horror book, The Shining. You may never have seen this classic terror tale but you can still google the hotel to see just how close designer AdUnique8768 has come to recreating it. Some of the roof structures are not quite the right shape but it’s close enough that they likely just ran into limitations within the engine to pull it off completely.

Dragonhold and City of Whiterun, Skyrim

Whiterun in Tiny Glade

Some fancy use of the in-game filter in Photo Mode here helps to bring this recreation of Skyrim’s Whiterun to life. We all remember the first time we cast eyes on Whiterun for the first time, it was a magical moment in gaming and Vengeful_Squid’s recreation of it here has just about the same effect, but cozier.

Hierarch Square, Novigrad, Witcher 3

Hierarch square in Tiny Glade

Vengeful_Squid_ has obviously been busy recreating all their favorite RPG locations in Tiny Glade and this time the Witcher 3 gets this treatment with this square from the town of Novigrad. It looks nice in the summer, doesn’t it? Cool place for a city break.

Dinosaur Fossils

Dinosaur fossils in Tiny Glade

Dinosaur Fossils by Cejiiii just shows off how creative people can get when given the tools. This is one of the best things we have seen in Tiny Glade because it just eschews the setting and just uses pure imagination to create a great image using the walls in the game. It’s also a really good fossil in any medium, never mind Tiny Glade. It just looks great.

Venice

Look, you can also create the actual real world in Tiny Glade too. Here we have the watery streets of Venice as reimagined by PapierCul. You actually have to stop for just a second here to establish in your own mind that this isn’t a photograph. Great use of Photo Mode.

Hogwarts

Hogwarts in Tiny Glade

We were always going to get Hogwarts, in fact, several people have had a crack at it. Hogwarts gets built in pretty much everything – check out this Minecraft build here – but there is something about Abhfeirdi’s build that just looks cool. Harry would be proud.

Trains! I just can’t stop making trains!

Trains in Tiny Glade

I mean, this is amazing work when you consider that things such as the placement of wheels are randomized. Zinod_lcniv has a video in this build thread on how they managed to get it to work, so if you are keen to do something similar you should check that out. We doubt the designers even began to think about the possibilities of what people would be making within days of Tiny Glade coming out.

Flatiron Building, New York

Flatiron in Tiny Glade

Sometimes the choice of filter really sets the mood and this recreation of New York’s iconic Flatiron building is brought to life by the black and white setting in Photo Mode. But beyond that, creator moh853 has got a stunning amount of detail in the build which is not easy given some of the random elements that appear. The fact that it isn’t surrounded by anything makes it starker still. We love this one.

Industrial Revolution

Industrial Revolution in Tiny Glade

And to finish off this page of the best builds in Tiny Glade we have another great example of how you can take a cute, lovely-looking game and turn it into a nightmarish vision of the Industrial Revolution of the 1800s. DV-13 has chosen to strip all the colors from their dystopian factories. We’d love to see this one in a harsh winter setting like the good old days down the workhouse.

Can you beat them?

So there you have it. Our 10 favorite builds in Tiny Glade so far, and we are only a week in. The clamor is growing for the devs to add modding support to the game but it is fun to see what people are able to come up with within its constraints. If you haven’t checked out Tiny Glade yet you can pick it up on Steam or check out the free demo to see if it is for you. (spoiler alert – it is!).
