Confession: My favorite kind of splurge is a hair tool. Enter my bathroom (which is *basically* a mini salon), and you’ll see a lineup of gadgets that could rival a pro’s. From my blow dryer to my curling irons to my electric round brush, my hair routine has me bouncing between devices like I’m training for a styling marathon. This gives me great joy, I’ll admit—but in an effort to declutter and give my husband a bit more cabinet real estate, I’ve decided it’s time to pare down.

Becoming a hair-care minimalist is totally reliant on a multi-styler that promises to do it all. I’ve been on the hunt for one that’s a bit more budget-friendly than the Dyson AirWrap (but just as effective, quick-drying, and easy-to-use, obviously). After reading lots of reviews and polling all my hair-obsessed friends, I finally landed on the Shark FlexStyle Air Styling and Drying System.

This multi-styler is the real deal. It’s already replaced three of my most-used tools (don’t worry—they’ll be fine) and seriously cut down on my styling time. It’s officially earned a spot on my vanity, and with it on sale for $230 on November 3 only, it couldn’t be a better time to add it to yours or gift it to someone on your holiday shopping list.

Shark FlexStyle Multi-Styler with Storage Bag — $230.00

Originally $269, $230 on November 3 only

  • Gives you the ability to curl, volumize, smooth, and dry your hair with one tool
  • Minimizes heat damage by regulating temperatures
  • Works on all hair types
  • Similar to the Dyson AirWrap at less than half the price tag
  • Expensive when not on sale

When I first got my hands on the Shark FlexStyle, it was clear that this tool was built differently than others I’ve tried. Sleek, solid, and lightweight, it’s easy to handle without the bulk or awkwardness I’ve noticed with other multi-stylers. Switching between the attachments is as simple as snapping them in place (and yes, they feel very secure once there), and the swivel base is a total game-changer that makes maneuvering the tool feel more intuitive, while also allowing for smoother mid-style transitions.

Plus, the temperature regulation feature is a standout, delivering consistently smooth results while maintaining the health of my hair. To ensure I’m not overheating and damaging my strands, I tapped Rebecca Raziuddin, director of education at Blo Blow Dry Bar, for her pro tips. Number one: Prep your hair before using the FlexStyle—she recommends detangling and applying a heat protectant to prevent breakage and heat damage. And number two: Be sure to style in sections, which helps avoid ripping and creating split ends.

Of the variety of attachments that the FlexStyle comes with, I’m especially into the auto-wrap curlers. They’re surprisingly beginner-friendly, making it easy to achieve bouncy curls that actually hold all day without losing their shape (a rarity!). If I had to choose a favorite feature, though, it’d be the oval brush—it gives me a flawless blowout every time. The FlexStyle also works on both damp and dry hair, so I can use it as a quick refresher on no-wash days.

For anyone wanting a multi-styler that promises high quality at a low price tag, streamlines your styling routine, and achieves salon-worthy results, the FlexStyle is it. Bonus: If you share your bathroom like I do, consider it a gift to yourself *and* the person who’s getting some cabinet space back.
