Just days before the anticipated launch of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7, new details have emerged about these devices.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is rumoured to be the world’s thinnest and lightest book-style foldable phone, according to a new report.

The report says the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will measure just 8.9mm when folded and 4.2mm when unfolded. The weight is said to be just 215g, which would make it thinner and lighter than the current crop of best foldable phones.

However, as there are also rumours we could see an Ultra model launch too – there’s every chance these could in fact be the details for that pricier model, with the standard Fold 7 having more in common with the Z Fold 6.

The report also reiterates some of the other specs we’re expecting from the Galaxy Z Fold 7, including a 6.5-inch cover screen and an 8-inch inner foldable display. It’ll pack a Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor and a 200MP primary camera. These specs line up with what we’d expect, especially as they’re similar to the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

The front-facing camera is said to be a 10MP shooter with a 100-degree field of view.

Plenty of upgrades for the Flip, but this is the Fold’s year

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is also said to be lighter and thinner than its predecessor. The report says the Z Flip 7 will weigh just 188g and measure 13.7mm when folded and 6.5mm when unfolded.

However, it’ll pack a larger battery (4,300mAh) and a larger cover screen (4.1-inches), while the primary screen will measure 6.9-inches. Both will have a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 2,600 nits.

Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event is likely to reveal all about these foldables in just a few days time. The Z Fold 7 is likely to have some enhancements that were inspired by the Galaxy Z Fold 6 special edition, including a larger display and improved camera capabilities.

The devices will run on One UI 8, based on Android 16, and there are rumours of a paid-for subscription service for the brand’s health features.
