Realme is positioning its new GT 8 Pro as the ultimate “street snap shooter,” and it’s easy to see why.
The flagship debuts a RICOH GR-co-developed camera system, a 200MP telephoto lens, and 4K @120fps Dolby Vision recording — so safe to say it’s taking photography very seriously.
The GT 8 Pro’s RICOH GR Camera System represents the result of a four-year partnership between Realme and RICOH, the legendary compact camera maker.
The collaboration goes beyond branding as the phone’s 50MP Anti-Glare Main Camera was designed to meet RICOH GR optical standards, with a 7P lens structure and a five-layer anti-reflective coating to minimise glare and ghosting, even under harsh lighting.
What makes this camera special, though, is its exclusive RICOH GR Mode: the interface now changes into an immersive and minimalist viewfinder that truly is the essence of the GR, complete with 28mm and 40mm focal lengths-and even the classic GR shutter sound.
Users can shoot in five signature film styles: Positive Film, Negative Film, High-Contrast B&W, Standard, and Monotone, to recreate the timeless “GR look.”
The second major upgrade is the 200MP telephoto lens. Using a 1/1.56-inch sensor, it promises crisp detail from afar with 3x optical, 6x lossless, and up to 12x hybrid zoom.

It’s particularly well-tuned for portrait work, according to Realme, balancing realism and depth with rich texture and accurate skin tones. Realme says its 3x “golden focal length” offers a natural depth-of-field effect that mirrors professional glass.
Complementing this is a 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 116° field of view and F2.0 aperture, ensuring that street scenes and group shots look equally cinematic.
On the video front, the GT 8 Pro supports 4K@120fps Dolby Vision recording, with 10-bit Log and 8K 30fps options for those who want post-production flexibility. The goal is to give creators the freedom to shoot, grade, and share without leaving their phone.
Realme’s framing of the GT 8 Pro as the “Best Street Snap Shooter” says a lot about how the device marries heritage and innovation. By integrating RICOH’s decades of photographic expertise with Realme’s cutting-edge processing, the GT 8 Pro looks to give young photographers a genuine creative tool rather than just another high-spec camera phone.
The Realme GT 8 Pro launches globally soon, with more information on pricing and availability due in the next few weeks.
