OnePlus has taken the wraps off the OnePlus 15 in China, with a wider release promised “soon.”
Highlights include a 165Hz display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, and a hefty 7,300mAh battery. You’re also getting 120W wired charging, IP69K durability, and a triple 50MP rear camera setup with an upgraded periscope zoom.
The battery is part of a broader trend of oversized cells in Chinese flagships this year, although it is not guaranteed that the same capacity will show up in every international variant.
The 165Hz panel is a jump over last year’s 120Hz on the OnePlus 13. Few games truly push those top frame rates, but higher refresh rates still make everyday swiping and scrolling feel smoother, and the bigger battery should help keep that slickness going through longer days.

There’s an obvious focus on imaging
Cameras remain a key storyline here. The triple 50MP setup points to consistency across lenses, and the periscope upgrade should help with reach and clarity at distance.
Whether processing keeps up is something only testing will answer, but it is clear OnePlus is chasing a well-rounded flagship rather than a single party trick.
OnePlus is also launching the Ace 6 alongside it, a cheaper sibling with a bigger 7800mAh cell and a simpler dual camera that may appear elsewhere as the 15R.
Right now, we can say that the OnePlus 15 is real, it is packing serious specs, and it is available in China first. Everyone else needs to hang tight for the wider launch and keep an eye on whether the massive battery and full spec list make the trip to other regions unchanged.
Opinion
The OnePlus 13 was one of my favourite Android phones of the yeat, and things are looking up for the followup. The massive is immediately the standout addition, but I also really like a taseful design which has a subtle overall look. It’s a bit of a shame it’s coming to China first, but hopefully the UK release won’t be too far away.
