Amazon’s circular Echo Spot with a digital face is something of a two-in-one device. Because of its small size and external display, it is an ideal bedtime companion.
You’ve got Alexa built-in, which means you can ask for all manner of things like what the weather’s going to be like for your day, reporting back any updates on upcoming meetings and more. After you get a feel of the kinds of things you ask for in the morning, you can even set the device up with Warm and Cool Routines, running specific tasks/automations depending on the time of day.
If the Echo Spot’s screen can’t provide you with all the necessary smart controls, then the Spot’s real strength comes in the use of voice commands. For instance, you can bypass any lengthy conversations about the state of your electronic devices by simply asking Alexa to turn them on/off.
When you’re rushing to the door, it can be a real help to say “Alexa, turn off all the lights” and allow the Spot to take care of any final outstanding requests for your smart home.
Because it’s an Echo at heart, this particular spot isn’t going to best the likes of the Amazon Echo Studio with regards to high-end music playback, but if you’re need the comfort of some ambient audio as you go through your typical daily routine then the Spot does provide a vibrant amount of sound, well above what you’d expect from something so small.
Whether you place it on your nightstand, office or a surface in the kitchen (to be fair, this is the best use of Echo devices seeing as how you can get cooking tips and recipe ideas) there’s a lot of use to be had from the Echo Spot, particularly when it’s just gone $20 cheaper than usual.

A neat smart clock, but don’t expect the full features of an Echo Show
