One of my favourite 2025 phones has over £300 off for Black Friday

As someone whose job it is to cover and review smartphones for a living, it’s safe to say that I’ve used my fair share of phones over the course of 2025 – and one of the most memorable is a true Black Friday bargain.

As part of its Black Friday sale bonanza, Amazon has reduced the price of the fantastic OnePlus 13 by a whopping £310, bringing the £999 smartphone down to a much more palatable £689. That’ll net you the phone in the gorgeous Midnight Ocean colourway with a whopping 512GB of storage – plenty for all your apps, games and music.

One of the best smartphones of 2025 has dropped in price by over £300 – and that’ll net you the top-end 512GB/16GB variant in Midnight Ocean too.

And, unlike on Prime Deal Days in October, this deal isn’t a Prime member exclusive – though you may want to take advantage of the free Amazon Prime trial to bag yourself free next-day delivery while deals are aplenty.

Yes, the OnePlus 13 has been replaced by the newer OnePlus 15 in recent weeks with a new look, more powerful internals and an even bigger battery. However, the OnePlus 13 remains one of my favourite all-rounders of 2025, and the introduction of a newer model doesn’t necessarily change that.

The OnePlus 13 is a solid phone that represents a great alternative to flagships from Samsung and Google. It’s really powerful, can go for ages on a full charge, refills quickly, has a brilliant display and versatile camera system. It’s all the things you’d want a OnePlus phone to be.

  • Exceptional battery life

  • Impressive performance

  • Top-end screen

  • Versatile camera setup

  • Issues with camera focus and halo effects

  • More bloatware

  • Limited AI smarts compared to some brands

It’s not hard to see why either; it’s not only a stylish smartphone with a textured vegan leather rear that looks good and feels lovely in the hand, but it’s also surprisingly durable with ceramic glass and dual IP68/IP69 protection.

There’s also that gorgeous 6.8-inch, 120Hz AMOLED screen that, even in the face of newer panels from the competition, still manages to hold its own. The pixel-packed panel delivers a top-notch viewing experience, whether you’re doomscrolling through TikTok or playing the latest mobile games.

It’s perfectly suited to the latter too, thanks to the use of the Snapdragon 8 Elite and a massive 16GB of RAM.

Again, this has been recently bested by the newer Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, but this was the chipset of 2025 with excellent performance across the board. And despite not being a gaming phone, there are plenty of gaming-focused software tweaks to get the most out of your favourite games.

The camera experience is similarly top-notch; the triple 50MP rear camera system, co-engineered with famed camera brand Hasselblad, delivers great point-and-shoot functionality with great results across the board – and Hasselblad filters and shooting modes allow you to get even more creative.

Throw in OnePlus’ excellent OxygenOS software, a massive 6000mAh battery that, until recently, was one of the largest around and rapid 100W charging, and you’ve got a pretty spectacular slab – especially at its newly discounted price point.

I’d move quickly if you’re tempted; I can’t see this one hanging around for very long.
