A young Norwegian man’s tall tale after trying to enter America blew up in his face last week when the truth of his rejection emerged.
On Tuesday, a 21-year-old Norwegian tourist named Mads Mikkelsen told Norwegian outlet Nordlys he was previously denied entry into the U.S. after border patrol discovered a meme of JD Vance on his phone.
The incident occurred at New Jersey’s Newark Airport on June 11. Mikkelsen said he was going on vacation in the States at the time.
Here is a look at the meme in question. It shows Vance as bald and puffy with wild eyes.
Quite nasty to say the least.

“They asked questions about drug trafficking, terrorist plots, and right-wing extremism totally without reason,” Mikkelsen told the Norwegian news outlet.
The Norwegian also claimed that the officers threatened him with a $5,000 fine or five years in prison if he refused to give the password to his cell phone.
However, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) quickly debunked Mikkelsen’s wild claim once the story went viral. It turns out that he was using illegal drugs, and America did not want a potential addict entering the country.
“Fact Check: FALSE,” the agency wrote on X.
“Mads Mikkelsen was not denied entry for any memes or political reason. It was for his admitted drug use.”
