Remember when Cyberpunk 2077 came out and people were either laughing at it or were faux-outraged that it was so bad? Now that it has ultimately turned out to be one of the best games ever made, that has all died down, but even now, years after its release you occasionally catch sight of it and think, ‘Wow, that looks amazing, how did it end up like this?’
A new mod pushing Cyberpunk to the dizzy heights of 8K and making it look, well, nothing short of stunning has been released. DreamPunk 2.0 – takes Cyberpunk 2077 and tells your PC not to worry, but this is gonna hurt, but the result is high-end CGI worthy.
Just look at the images above, and if you think its fake watch the video, including the second half with the tour around Night City’s roads.
DreamPunk 2.0 also brings dynamic weather and clouds and throws some HDR goodness into the mix. It just looks amazing.
This mod however is not for everyone. For starters, it’s not free, you need to be a Patreon of NextGenDreams – creator of DreamPunk and several amazing ReShades. It will set you back a mere £6 a month at the lowest tier, at which you can still get your hands on the mod.
Secondly, and we guess you knew this was coming, this is not a mod made for all PCs. It’s definitely time to pick up that 4090 you have wanted for ages, so you might have to sell the car to get there.
It is worth reiterating that this is a four-year-old game that looks this good. It’s as much a glimpse into the future of AAA as anything, and if this doesn’t make you want to go back and play it one more time, especially now it is all fixed up and players like a dream, we don’t know what will.
