Folks, by now you know that we don’t gatekeep around here—which is why we’re bringing you by far the easiest (and mess-free) way to make bread: the Lékué bread maker, the high-heat resistant bread-making bowl of your dreams.

Prepared to have your mind blown? This genius invention has made it possible to weigh, knead, and bake your homemade bread in one (yes, one!) single container. If this isn’t the definition of genius, I’m not sure what is. Ahead we delve into the specifics of this unique invention, and share a quick and beyond easy recipe for making a batch of steamy and pillowy-soft, one-bowl bread in mere minutes with literally zero dirty dishes involved. Swoon.

The Lékué silicone bread maker

Spanish company Lékué is known for unique, well-designed products, gadgets, and utensils that offer smart solutions to problems—and the Silicone Bread Maker, which retails for $28 on Amazon, is one of our favorites yet.

A few nitty-gritties: The lightweight, compact silicone bowl is oven, microwave, dishwasher, and fridge safe, and can resist temperatures up to 428ºF or -76ºF. It has a capacity of 20 ounces (600 milliliters); it’s 11 inches long, nine inches wide, and five inches tall. The bowl has a top handle that secures the container shut for easy handling and shaping of the contents. Plus, each container—made with their premium platinum food-safe silicone—comes with a 10-year warranty.

How to make bread in one bowl

Enough about the fussy specs—let’s talk bread. As mentioned, you can use the Lékué silicone bread maker to whip together a loaf of steamy, pillowy-soft bread in just a few steps (and, yes, in just one bowl)—just as @coocoocooking demonstrates in this TikTok video. Once you have gathered together your usual basic bread-making ingredients (think flour, yeast, salt, sugar, olive oil, and water), you can get right to work.

In the silicone bowl, start combining your ingredients (activating the yeast before adding it to the dough), and then mix everything together with a spatula—your hands will do the trick for minimal clean up, too.

The genius feature? The bowl folds together and secures with a handle at the top, making it the perfect (covered) container for the dough to rise. Plus, since the Lékué bread maker is made out of silicone, the dough minimally sticks to the edges—and if it does, you can easily maneuver the bowl by folding it inwards to ensure all the residual bits and pieces stick back together to the dough ball.

Once the dough has doubled in size, you’ll want to reopen the bread maker and shape the dough with your hands. Start by pulling the dough away from the edges and towards the center of the bowl, working towards forming a long, oval loaf. Then, let the dough rise for a second time before baking it in the oven for less than an hour.

The result is a gorgeous, steamy loaf of bread ready to top with some of your favorite toppings like warm and cozy apple butter. Sign. Us. Up.

Easy one-bowl homemade bread recipe

Yields 1 loaf

Ingredients
3 cups of bread flour
1 Tsp. salt
3 Tsp. fresh yeast
1 cup water
1 Tsp. sugar
1 Tsp. olive oil

1. In the Lékué silicone bread maker, combine the flour and salt.
2. In a separate bowl, combine the fresh yeast and water. Stir until fully dissolved. Then, add the sugar, and stir.
3. In the bread maker bowl, create a small well in the center, and slowly add the yeast mixture. Then, using a silicone spatula (or your hands), gently combine the ingredients together. Next, add the olive oil to the dough, and gently knead with your hands until fully incorporated.
4. Next, close the bread maker bowl by securing the top, and allow for the dough to rise.
5. Once the dough has doubled in size, open the bread maker bowl, and using your hands, gently pull the dough away from the edges toward the center, and shape the dough into an oval-shaped dough ball. Close the bread maker bowl again, and let it rest for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 400ºF.
6. Once the dough has rested, bake it in the oven (with the container closed) for 40 minutes or until golden brown. Carefully remove the bread from the bowl and slice.
