If you use HBO Max, brace yourself: the streaming platform has pushed through another price hike, marking the third rise in as many years.

Warner Bros. Discovery announced the price hike yesterday (October 21) less than a month after a top executive hinted that the service was “way under-priced”.

The price increases are as follows:

  • HBO Max Basic With Ads (stream on two devices simultaneously): now $10.99/month (up $1) or $109.99/year (up $10).
  • HBO Max Standard (no ads, stream on two devices simultaneously): now $18.49/month (up $1.50) or $184.99/year (up $15).
  • HBO Max Premium (no ads, 4K, stream on four devices simultaneously): now $22.99/month (up $2) or $229.99/year (up $20).

These prices are effective immediately for new subscriptions. Existing monthly subscribers will get a 30-day notice and will begin seeing the higher rate on the next bill dated on or after November 20, 2025. Annual plans won’t change until they’re up for renewal – and you’ll get 30 days notice then too.

This is the third price increase since HBO Max launched: the first was in January 2023, the second in June 2024 and now October 2025.

Disney+, Hulu, Peacock, Apple TV and Netflix have all nudged the prices up recently, and HBO Max is doing the same to keep pace.
