Google is making it even easier to skip the blank-slide panic. The company’s Gemini AI can now generate full presentations for you – complete with text, themes, and images – straight inside its Canvas workspace.
The new feature allows you to create slides from scratch with a simple prompt or by uploading your own materials.
For example, if you type “Create a presentation on climate change,” or upload a research paper, Gemini will automatically turn it into an editable deck. Every presentation comes with a pre-installed theme and set of images, and it can be exported directly into Google Slides for further editing or collaboration.
Canvas, which Google launched in March this year, is designed as an interactive workspace inside the Gemini app – a place to write, edit, code, or design alongside the AI.
With presentation features that go well beyond just text and code, it will be a useful application for students, researchers, and professionals who want to turn information into something visual and shareable.
Moreover, this rollout covers both personal and Workspace accounts, which means that anyone using Gemini can start testing it now. And while the AI handles the heavy lifting, you still have authority in your own presentation as you can refine the slides manually, add notes, or adjust the design once it’s imported into Google Slides.
So, AI merely makes it easier and more convenient for you to complete your tasks on time; you still have the freedom to use your creativity.
In other words, Gemini is now even more than a chatbot; a true productivity assistant. When the AI takes control of layouts and styles, you can focus on the content and less on formatting.
