We’ve not reviewed the 55-inch version of this Hisense TV but we review the U7Q Pro, which offers slightly better specs at a slightly more expensive price. That you can get the U7Q for well under £500 is a bit of a steal in our opinion.
In terms of picture quality, the Hisense is very bright but better balanced in terms of colours that we’ve seen from older models. Black levels are very good and blooming (leaking of light) is handled better than Hisense TVs from previous years have managed.
It comes with Hisense’s VIDAA interface which offers access to all the big streaming apps, plus the UK catch-up apps through Freely. There’s plenty of entertainment options on this TV, whether it’s free or paid; with support for cloud gaming and kid-friendly content on the VIDAA platform.
Speaking of gaming, this Hisense supports refresh rates up to 144Hz for PC gamers, who also get AMD FreeSync support that produces a slicker gaming performance.
The sound quality, if it’s similar to the U7Q Pro is better than you’d expect, with its spacious, clear and detailed sound; as well as a better than expected bass performance for a TV.
