Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra is already shaping up to be a familiar-but-improved successor to the S25 Ultra, and now we have a better idea of what’s happening with the battery.
A new leak out of China claims the S26 Ultra will pack a 5,200mAh cell, giving it a slight bump over the 5,000mAh batteries Samsung has used for the last few generations.
It’s not a huge leap, but it is the first increase in years. And for a device that’s expected to juggle a brighter display, more powerful AI features, and that new f/1.4 main camera, a little extra headroom never hurts.
But before you take the 5,200mAh number as fact, there’s a catch: it contradicts an earlier Chinese certification from August, which listed the S26 Ultra’s rated capacity at 4,855mAh — a figure that usually translates to the same 5,000mAh “typical” capacity we’ve seen before. With conflicting reports on the table, this is definitely a “wait for more sources” situation.
Where things get more interesting is charging. Multiple leaks now point to the Galaxy S26 Ultra supporting 60W wired charging and 25W wireless charging, both notable upgrades over the S25 Ultra’s 45W wired and 15W wireless speeds.
Samsung has historically held back on aggressively pushing charging wattages, so a move from 45W to 60W, even if still behind rivals like Xiaomi or OnePlus, would be a meaningful upgrade for day-to-day use.
If the latest leak ends up being the accurate one, the S26 Ultra could offer a slightly larger battery and faster charging in the same generation — small improvements, yes, but ones that users will feel.
For now, the only thing certain is that battery rumours are still all over the place… but where there’s this much smoke, something’s definitely burning in Samsung’s R&D labs.
