Over the past couple of years, a page about Football Manager’s specs would hardly have changed from version to version. Most of the changes were around the game’s systems with very little extra being applied to the system it was running on.
This year’s 25 iteration could just be a little bit different, however. A switch to the Unity engine and the promise of a hugely ramped-up graphical experience could be causing the sweats for fans used to running the game on whatever older hardware they have lying around.
Sports Interactive has just announced the specs for FM25 for both desktop and laptop so let’s have a look at whether it is upgrade time for anybody.
Football Manager 25 PC System Requirements
As we mentioned we have two flavors, Minimum and Recommended and each comes with a Desktop and laptop variant. Here are the specs and we will dig in afterwards.

The recommended spec has shot up considerably here if we take a look at the specs for last year’s game:
FM2024 specs
Component | Specification |
---|---|
CPU | Intel Core 2 AMD Athlon 64 X2 |
RAM | 4 GB |
GPU | Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT AMD Mobility Radeon HD 3650 Intel GMA X4500 |
That RTX 2060 card for the Recommended specs, while still within most people’s range, starts to look a bit spicier than in previous years, especially if you are playing on a laptop. We will need to get the game in our hands to try to work out just how much of a factor this is going to be for many of the player base, but with a lot of regular features already being stripped out of the new look game, fans will hoping that Sports Interactive has got this beloved franchise’s next move right.
Football Manager 25 releases on PC on 26th November on Steam and Xbox Game Pass. It will also launch the same day on PS5 and Xbox with the Nintendo Switch version due a week later.
