EA Play is celebrating its 10th anniversary with an unprecedented new user discount on the service. Ordinarily coming in at $5.99 per month, you can get the first month of EA Play for just $0.99 ( or 99p in the UK).
EA’s offering is one of the most long-lived gaming subscription offerings that allows players to pay a flat monthly (or yearly) fee to access a huge catalog of a publisher’s games. It has been around since 2014, three years longer than Game Pass.

The two tiers
There’s a very simple tier system at the heart of EA’s subscription service – the basic version, called just EA Play (which is what the anniversary offer will give users), and EA Play Pro.
The prices for both tiers recently increased but it’s still a reasonable amount if you play a lot of EA titles, especially when you consider that a triple-A game release these days can be as much as $80 or more.
EA Play
A subscription to EA Play will cost 99c for the first month with the anniversary offer, and then $5.99 per month (or $39.99 paid annually).
Users will get the following benefits:
- access to the EA Play back catalog and unlimited access to the games within
- in-game member rewards
- extended 10-hour trials for new game launches (often days before official launch dates). Gameplay and save data will carry over if users go on to purchase the game.
Games included in the basic catalog are more limited than the Pro catalog, but certainly nothing to be sneezed at. Games like Jedi Survivor, which will set you back $69.99 without a subscription, Mass Effect Legendary Edition which retails for $59.99, and fan favorites like Dragon Age: Inquisition, which is still $39.99, are all part of EA Play and available to anyone with a subscription.
EA Play Pro
A subscription to EA Play Pro will naturally set you back a bit more than the basic tier service, at $16.99 per month (or $119.99 annually), but the perks are much more substantial.
Users will get the following benefits:
- The expanded EA Play Pro catalog, which includes everything in the standard catalog and more
- in-game member rewards
- Full, premium editions of new releases, sometimes days before the official launch
Games that are included in Pro span a wide range and as well as all the classic EA titles included in the basic tier, there are tons of full indie games players can experience included in Pro.
These include Gone Home, Frost Punk, Dead Cells, and more. There are also several classic Star Wars titles like the Force Unleashed games, and Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2.
Upcoming games that will be part of EA Play (either as 10-hour teasers or full games) include the hotly anticipated Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and EA Sports Madden NFL 25.
Don’t miss the 99c introductory offer to celebrate the service’s 10th anniversary – sign up on the EA website. Don’t forget that Xbox Game Pass subscribers already have the basic tier included in their Game Pass subscription.
