Former President Donald Trump has teased the launch of his family’s cryptocurrency project, which will be announced 50 days before Election Day.
The crypto platform is called World Liberty Financial and will be run by the Republican candidate’s sons Donald Jr. and Eric.
In a video posted to his 90 million followers on X, the business tycoon said: “We’re embracing the future with crypto and leaving the slow and outdated big banks behind.”

The official launch of the platform will also be hosted on X: “Join me live on Twitter Spaces at 8 pm, September 16th for the launch of World Liberty Financial.”
While the family members involved have posted about the platform several times since its inception in August, the actual details about what it will involve remain limited.
Much of the marketing has taken place on X, the social media platform owned by billionaire and Trump supporter, Elon Musk. Donald Jr. and Eric also created a Telegram channel to share the details and the official World Liberty Financial channel quickly amassed over 150,000 subscribers.
Donald Trump continues his focus on crypto industry
This news comes as Donald Trump homes in on the cryptocurrency industry during his campaign, with regular promises to make the US the “global crypto capital“.
It was on September 5 when Trump spoke at the Economic Club of New York and said: “…instead of attacking industries of the future, we’ll embrace them, including making America the world capital for crypto and Bitcoin.”
The 45th POTUS also pledged to “eliminate a minimum of 10 old regulations for every one new regulation” and described this as being “quite easily” done.
In previous events, the businessman has declared: “if you’re for crypto, you better vote for Trump.”
The impending election will take place on Tuesday, November 5, with either Donald Trump or Kamala Harris securing the position of President of the United States.
At the debate on September 10, there was no mention of the cryptocurrency industry between the candidates but with more events and appearances lined up this could all change.
