The most recent World Series of Poker tournament continues to throw surprises, including Celine Dion’s son René-Charles Angelil being a contender.
This marks his third time playing the Main Event, but he spoke candidly about his previous experiences as he said, “I think the first two times I played, I didn’t make it to dinner on day one, so I’m pretty happy to still be here on day five with chips.”
In the interview, the 24-year-old was also asked whether his mom had picked up his passion for poker. While this was denied, René-Charles went on to explain how his dad “was a very avid poker player.”
“I kind of picked it up from him, so I’ve been playing for quite a long time since I was like, you know, five years old, just playing him heads up and stuff…”
He continued to be asked about his mother, with him suggesting she could make an appearance if he makes it to the final table.
