Bang & Olufsen is extending its centenary celebration with two striking new editions of its flagship Beolab 90 loudspeaker, transforming the already-iconic model into a pair of highly collectable art pieces.
The Phantom Edition and Mirage Edition follow the previously launched Titan Edition, continuing B&O’s plan to release five Atelier-crafted anniversary designs, each limited to just ten pairs.
The Phantom Edition leans fully into the drama of a monochromatic black finish. Bang & Olufsen describes it as a “study in darkness,” but the effect isn’t just visual flair.
The semi-transparent black PVD metal mesh creates a holographic glimpse of the speaker’s internal structure, shifting subtly depending on the angle. Carbon fibre accents across the face mask, base panels and shoulder plates reinforce the motorsport-inspired aesthetic, while a pearl-blasted aluminium skeleton ties everything together with the kind of precision machining only the Atelier team can pull off.
Every carbon fibre panel is hand-layered, resulting in a finish that looks engineered and sculpted in equal measure.

The Mirage Edition, meanwhile, moves in the opposite direction. Instead of stealth, it embraces colour, and lots of it. The iridescent fabric covering shifts between sapphire and magenta, echoing sound waves whenever light hits the surface. Five aluminium components on each speaker undergo bespoke gradient anodisation, paired with wave-textured surfaces that give the entire structure a sense of movement.
This edition showcases Bang & Olufsen’s materials expertise just as confidently as the Phantom Edition, but in a more expressive and playful way.
Both models retain the well-established acoustic pedigree of the Beolab 90, which first launched in 2015 and still represents one of the brand’s most technically ambitious speakers. With 18 drivers, beam-forming technology and some of the most advanced DSP available in a home audio product, these limited editions don’t compromise on performance, they simply elevate the visual experience around it.
Bang & Olufsen unveiled the Phantom and Mirage Editions at its new San Francisco Culture Store, the largest showroom the company has opened to date. The anniversary models will now go on tour to other international locations, giving potential buyers a chance to see the pieces up close before placing an order.
With only ten pairs of each edition being produced, the new Beolab 90 Atelier releases aren’t just high-end loudspeakers, they’re collectable objects designed to sit at the intersection of audio engineering and art.
