Designed for frequent travellers and commuters alike, Acer’s latest laptop is one of the lightest 16-inch computers currently available.

Starting from just 2.18 pounds, the Acer Swift Air 16 is a delightfully lightweight laptop that weighs less than even the largest 15-inch MacBook Air M4, which is 3.3 pounds.

This is thanks to its magnesium aluminium alloy chassis, which Acer promises keeps the weight low while ensuring reliable durability too.

While such a lightweight model may have you worried about performance and battery life, Acer aims to put any concerns to rest. In fact, powering the Switch Air 16 is the AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series of processors, including the Ryzen AI 7 350 which promises “enhanced responsiveness” and “robust performance” for tasks such as streaming, editing and creative workflows too.

Not only that, but the AI processor ensures the smooth running of Microsoft Copilot. As the Switch Air 16 is a Copilot Plus PC, you can access the AI toolkit which includes the controversial Recall feature, alongside the likes of Cocreator for image generation, answering questions and more.

Plus, Ryzen AI 300 Series also promises to maintain low power consumption too, with Acer claiming the Swift Air 16 should therefore see up to 13 hours of battery life.

While the Acer Swift 16 Air is only available as a 16-inch model, users can choose their preferred screen type. There’s an IPS option that’s equipped with a 60Hz refresh rate or an AMOLED display fitted with a more appealing 120Hz refresh rate.

However, just keep in mind that if you do opt for the AMOLED alternative, the weight of the laptop increases to 2.43 lbs, which is still lighter than the 13-inch MacBook Air M4.

The Acer Swift Air 16 will be available in November, with a starting price of €999.
