In the scheme of leggings, there’s the usual variations in compression, rise, and length. And then, once the first chill hits, we all collectively remember a different kind: fleece leggings. Whether you’re layering them under pants or a dress or going at it alone, a cozy fleece pair is clutch when temperatures get frigid—and Cuddl Duds Fleecewear Leggings are on sale right now to help you stock up your cold-weather wardrobe.

Now, unlike the rest of the fellow Millennial population, I’m a relatively new leggings convert.  It started first in pregnancy (in which, of course, they eventually became the only bottoms I could wear) and slowly ramped up to today—an era in which I haven’t worn anything but leggings for the last week. And now that I’m in it, I am in it. So I can vouch that Cuddl Duds Fleecewear Leggings are the softest pair—and best at cutting the chill of winter wind—and they’re 17% off now through December 25.

Cuddl Duds Fleecewear Leggings — $28.00

Original $34; now on sale for $28

  • Cozy fleece material keeps you warm as a base layer or on its own
  • Touch of spandex makes the comfy fleece more form-fitting
  • Hidden, adjustable inner drawstring so they stay up
  • Not quite as body-hugging as regular leggings

I’m hashtag blessed to live next to Prospect Park, Brooklyn’s over-500-acre playground, and cherish my daily walks and chance to get out in nature—so there was no way I was giving that up once the temps dropped into the teens (plus, cold-weather walks offer tons of wellness benefits, too). Instead, I bought three pairs of Cuddl Duds (in dark grey, an emerald green, and navy instead of my usual black, just for fun) and have called it a very happy day.

Unlike some other pairs, these aren’t fleece lined—they’re fully soft, fuzzy fleece all the way through, but with a touch of spandex stretch to keep their shape on your body and a hidden elastic waistband to stay in place on top. They’re equally great as a cold-weather shield outdoors and a couch-lounging upgrade indoors—so really the only question is, how many pairs will you get?
