Those on the waitlist can now use prediction market Polymarket once again, as its app makes a return to the United States.
After several months of preparing, Polymarket has officially returned to the US, with a waitlist now open for iOS users to get access to the app. To join, you just need to download the Polymarket app and follow the steps upon opening it.
The initial focus of the prediction market will be sports, followed by ‘everything.’
“Polymarket’s US app is now being rolled out to those on the waitlist,” wrote the company on its official X account. “We’re launching with sports — followed by markets on everything.”

Polymarket’s path to the US
Polymarket was first banned in the US under the Biden administration back in 2022, along with a $1.4 million fine, for operating an unregistered derivatives exchange. However, the last few months have seen the prediction market take a number of steps to return to the American market – not least gaining CFTC approval before launching.
Sports betting has long since clearly been the focus of the return, especially considering how popular sports contracts have proved with Polymarket’s competitors, like Kalshi. The company has also made some strategic acquisitions to pave the way for its return to the US.
The first was back in July 2025, purchasing QCEX, a CFTC-regulated exchange and clearinghouse, for $112 million. This was swiftly followed by a partnership with daily fantasy sports operator PrizePicks, capitalizing on its US market.
The beta test in the US launched on November 14, followed by the official return almost three weeks later on December 3. With more and more prediction markets popping up all the time and Kalshi hitting a valuation of $11 billion this week, the future is looking bright for the sector, especially with regards to the US market.
