The Nintendo Switch 2, despite coming out back in June, is still in huge demand – and that means retailers aren’t fussed about offering significant savings on the console for Black Friday. Well, most retailers anyway.
Get the Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle for just £399
Argos’ offer on the Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle is the cheapest we’ve seen to date in the UK, and it’ll unlikely get cheaper anytime soon.
It really is a fantastic console too, and it’s well worth the upgrade – even if you’ve already got an original Nintendo Switch. There’s a reason why the Nintendo Switch 2 garnered an impressive four stars and the Trusted Reviews Recommend award when we reviewed it, after all.
The Switch 2 might lack the gimmicks typically associated with a Nintendo console, but by refining an already excellent product, this follow-up is an easy win. It’s better in just about every way compared to the original 2017 Switch, with a better screen, smarter build and a more capable chip that’ll hopefully lead to more reliability down the line. It’s expensive, and the battery life is far from impressive, yet the Switch 2 is a worthy successor.
-
Plenty of welcome screen upgrades -
Faster performance to give even classic Switch games an extra boost -
Sleek design
-
Poor battery life -
OLED would have been better -
Hefty price
The Switch 2 takes the OG Switch experience to the next level, improving just about every aspect of the original console.
That starts with the screen, that’s not only bigger at 7.9 inches, but it’s finally Full HD resolution – and that goes up to 4K when connected to a TV via the dock. It’s also super smooth at 120Hz, allowing for up to 120fps gameplay in select titles.
The Joy Cons have also been upgraded, now snapping onto the sides of the console via strong magnets, while also introducing totally new ways to interact with them – including a mode that essentially turns them into computer mice when used on a flat surface.
Performance has also been boosted, and while Nintendo hasn’t shared the specifics of its internal chipset, it’s a massive improvement over the original console’s alternative. Games not only load faster, but they run more smoothly and look sharper and more detailed too.

And, of course, there are plenty of big-name games available for the platform, including Switch 2-optimised versions of big hitters like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to entirely new titles like Mario Kart World, bundled in with the deal, which offers a large, expansive world for Mario fans to explore outside of races.
The platform also has exclusive franchises like Metroid and Pokémon that won’t launch anywhere else.
Throw in improved online gameplay with voice chat and even video calls, a redesigned chassis with a much better kickstand and HDR support, and you’ve got an all-round improvement that’s hard to criticise – especially when you can get the console and a game for not much more than the cost of the console itself.
