One of our favourite cordless vacuums, the Shark PowerDetect Clean and Empty, is down to its lowest ever price for Black Friday.
Packed with genuinely useful cleaning technologies, a mighty self-emptying charging station and enough tools to see you through a whole-house clean, the Shark PowerDetect (IP3251UKT) is a brilliant vacuum for most households.
Praised by our Home Technology Editor Dave Ludlow for its “incredible combination of power and technology”, we found that the PowerDetect makes light work of almost all floor cleaning challenges.
Most notable of the technologies on offer is Shark’s Power Detect, which enables the vacuum to automatically boost its suction when dirt or carpet is detected. Not only does that promise stronger pick-up, but it also means you can vacuum across different floor types without needing to swap between floorheads.
While the main Duo-Clealean floor head is the tool you’ll use the most, as it’s fitted with two brush rolls and can pick up debris and hair when pushed forward and when pulled backward, Shark also includes other useful tools too.
There’s the motorised pet tool which picks up pet hair and other debris from soft furnishings, a crevice tool for hard to reach areas and a multi-surface tool.

Overall, we couldn’t recommend the Shark PowerDetect enough as we concluded its “clever detection technologies mean that this vacuum cleaner adjusts power on the fly to give you the best dust collection, while maximising battery life.”
