I’ve been using Whoop for just under a couple of months now, and in that relatively short space of time I’ve already gained so much insight and made changes to my lifestyle.

I do think it’s worth noting that although Whoop undoubtedly makes a great companion to those with a fully thought-out workout routine, you don’t necessarily need to be super athletic to make the most of the subscription.

In fact, prior to signing up, I was worried that Whoop would be lost on someone like me who isn’t a gym bunny and has never even considered doing a half marathon. However, the reality is that Whoop is a brilliant tool to monitor aspects of your health, receive a personal daily outlook which advises you on how far to push yourself, track your sleep and much more.

What I particularly like with Whoop is the Journal tool which allows you to select various different “behaviours” to track each day. For example, some of the behaviours I track include whether I’ve drank any alcohol, saw artificial light when waking up (my SAD lamp), commuted to the office and more. 

Whoop then uses this information to offer insights about how certain behaviours have affected your recovery. For example, I’ve learned that although my SAD lamp is a nice way to ensure I don’t wake up in darkness, it has a negative effect on my recovery score.

Essentially, Whoop is a brilliant way to learn more about how your body works and reacts to certain factors. I’ve found it not only insightful, but it has also motivated me to push myself that bit further – and actually complete a workout. 

Take it from me, the past couple of months using Whoop is the most invested I’ve been with my health and fitness. And as I’m currently subscribed to a weekly “boost fitness” plan, my motivation will only continue to grow.
