Although Redmagic is yet to officially reveal its 11 Pro and 11 Pro Plus smartphones globally, the brand has revealed a handful of exciting features we can expect.
One of those features is the AquaCore Cooling System which awards the 11 Pro as being the “world’s first mass-produced liquid cooling smartphone”. But what really is AquaCore Cooling and how does it work? Will we likely see the technology in other smartphones?

What is the Redmagic AquaCore Cooling System?
Redmagic’s AquaCore Cooling System circulates liquid coolant throughout its upcoming flagship handsets to ensure the phones stay cool, even during intense gaming sessions.
The system is inspired by AI servers and circulates fluorinated liquid through the phone’s ceramic micropump. This, Redmagic explains, ensures the 11 Pro series is able to stay cool, stable and efficient from -60° to 108°C.
A key part of the system is the ceramic micropump which Redmagic says is able to achieve “reliable fluid circulation in an ultra-thin form factor”.
While the thought of relying on liquid to cool an electronic may feel strange, Redmagic promises that the system has been tested to ensure smooth, low-resistance flow, has an anti-puncture membrane for a fully-sealed system and has passed “tens of thousands of drop tests”.
Speaking of durability, the system is the first to provide an IPX8 rating which means the phone is protected against the effects of continuous immersion in water.
Aside from the liquid coolant, the AquaCore Cooling System is also made up of the industry’s fastest turbo fan which runs at 24,000 RPM to quickly expel heat from the device.
Which devices use the AquaCore Cooling System?
At the time of writing, it is just expected that the Redmagic 11 Pro and 11 Pro Plus will use the AquaCore Cooling System, and it can’t be found on any other handset.
