Redmagic is gearing up to reveal its flagship gaming smartphone series, made up of the 11 Pro and Pro 11Plus.

Ahead of its official announcement on November 3rd, some of the Redmagic 11 Pro’s specs have been unveiled by the brand. We’ve compared these early specs to the Redmagic 10S Pro to see what’s new with the upcoming flagship handset below.

Keep reading to get a sneak preview of the Redmagic 11 Pro and decide whether you think it has a chance at making it into our best gaming phone list.

Pricing and Availability

At the time of writing, the Redmagic 11 Pro is only available in China and has a starting RRP of 4999 CNY, which roughly converts to around £527/$700. We don’t currently know how much the phone will retail for in the UK or US, nor the exact launch date but we expect to find this out during the official launch event on November 3rd.

The Redmagic 10S Pro is readily available now, and has a starting RRP of £579/$699.

Redmagic 11 Pro runs on Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

The Redmagic 11 Pro is among an influx of recently announced Android smartphones that will run on Qualcomm’s latest flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor.

Although we’re yet to try Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for ourselves, Qualcomm promises the processor should offer better AI, efficiency and faster speeds compared to Snapdragon 8 Elite. Considering its predecessor powered many of the best Android phones and many of the best gaming phones too, we definitely have high expectations for Gen 5.

Otherwise, the 10S Pro is powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Version, which is a slightly beefier chip than Snapdragon 8 Elite. We found that this processor absolutely stormed through a variety of games, from Call of Duty Mobile to Fall Guys, without any lag or slowdown.

Redmagic 11 Pro uses AquaCore Cooling System

A key element to gaming smartphones is the ability to stay cool, even when you’re powering through countless intense levels. That’s why it’s important to note that the Redmagic 11 Pro sports Redmagic AquaCore Cooling System, which gives the handset the title of “world’s first mass-produced liquid cooling smartphone”.

The AquaCore Cooling System promises to set a new standard, thanks to the industry’s “fastest turbo fan” and the liquid coolant flowing inside.

Redmagic’s AquaCore Cooling System, found in the 11 Pro series, is made up of a customised micro pump that circulates liquid coolant throughout the micro channel, which should ensure the phone stays cool during use.

As we haven’t reviewed the Redmagic 11 Pro yet, we’ll have to wait and see how the AquaCore Cooling System performs in real time. However, it’s fair to say that we’re excited to see it in action.

That’s not to say the Redmagic 10S Pro doesn’t have any cooling ability. Instead, the handset is fitted with an Ice-X cooling system which utilises two chambers on either side of the device to ensure there’s plenty of airflow getting to where it needs to be. During our time with the handset, we found it worked well and we never detected heat rising during gameplay.

Redmagic 11 Pro has a larger battery

With a capacity of a whopping 7500mAh, the Redmagic 11 Pro boasts one of the largest battery cells found on the market. Having said that, although the Redmagic 10S Pro’s battery is slightly smaller, at 7050mAh it’s still undoubtedly an impressive capacity.

As we’re yet to review the Redmagic 11 Pro, we can’t confirm how well its battery performs in everyday use. However, considering that the smaller battery of the 10S Pro was able to easily offer two days of use on a single charge, and we rarely saw the handset end with less than 60% in the tank, it’s fair to hope the 11 Pro will offer similar longevity.

Both have a 95.3% screen-to-body ratio

Hailed as being an “industry-leading” feature, both the Redmagic 11 Pro and Redmagic 10S Pro boast a near bezel-less 95.3% screen-to-body ratio for immersive gaming.

The Redmagic 11 Pro, however, does benefit from up to a massive 3000Hz instant touch sampling which promises “next-level” responsiveness, whereas the Redmagic 10S Pro caps out at up to 2500Hz.

Even so, we were blown away by the responsiveness of the 10S Pro and found the screen to be quick to respond to inputs and allowed us to feel in sync with the action happening onscreen.

Early Verdict

For keen mobile gamers, the Redmagic 11 Pro is undoubtedly an exciting prospect. With an immersive 95.3% screen-to-body ratio, innovative liquid cooling system and Qualcomm’s latest chipset running the show, we’re expecting big things from the Android.

We’ll update this versus once we’ve reviewed the Redmagic 11 Pro and offer a more conclusive verdict to help you decide between it and the Redmagic 10S Pro.
