Garmin has announced the Venu 4, the latest addition to its smartwatch lineup, which appears poised to compete directly with the Apple Watch Series 11.
With a refined design, smarter health tracking and longer battery life, it’s shaping up to be one of Garmin’s most rounded wearables yet.
What’s new?
One of the big new additions is Garmin Fitness Coach, which offers personalised workouts across more than 25 activities.
Whether you’re into running, rowing or HIIT, the watch adapts to your training history, recovery and even sleep quality to recommend daily sessions. It’s a more flexible take on the suggested workouts we saw in the Garmin Venu 3, and should appeal to anyone who wants guidance without paying for third-party apps.
Health tracking also gets an upgrade. The Venu 4 can now log lifestyle habits like caffeine or alcohol intake and show how they affect stress, sleep and recovery.
Features like advanced sleep metrics and Body Battery monitoring return, but the watch also adds accessibility options including a spoken watch face and colour filters. A built-in LED flashlight rounds things off, which is handy for evening runs or digging through a bag at night.
Battery life remains one of Garmin’s biggest strengths, with the Venu 4 lasting up to 12 days in smartwatch mode.
That’s far beyond what you’ll get from the Apple Watch Ultra 2, making it easier to track health trends without worrying about a nightly recharge.
Garmin Venu 4 price and release date
The Venu 4 goes on sale from September 22, priced from £469.99 / €549.99, and will be available in two sizes with a range of straps and finishes.
It’s not the cheapest Garmin wearable, but the blend of fitness tools, accessibility features and style could make it a strong contender in the crowded smartwatch market.
