Apple announced heaps of features that will launch alongside the upcoming iOS 26 update for compatible iPhones at the annual WWDC.
Alongside the likes of the brand new Liquid Glass design, Call Screening and Live Translation, Apple has also introduced some updates for its Apple Music app including AutoMix.

What is AutoMix?
AutoMix is a clever music tool that uses intelligence to seamlessly transition from one song to the next “like a DJ”. Apple explains it works by using “time stretching and beat matching” to move from one song to the next.
Apple Music currently only offers crossfading which fades out a previous song while bringing in the next one, to prevent any unwanted silences. However, crossfading doesn’t tailor to each song, which means you can lose certain parts of songs.
How can I try AutoMix?
AutoMix will officially roll out with the iOS 26 update, which Apple says will be available “this fall as a free software update”. While we don’t have the exact date for this yet, and likely won’t until much closer to the time, there is a way you can try AutoMix now.
At the time of writing, although the public beta isn’t available yet, you can test iOS 26 through the Apple Developer Program. To do this, you’ll need to create a Developer profile and it’s advised to back-up your iPhone before getting started.
